FastCP is an open source control panel for Ubuntu servers that lets webmasters host and manage multiple PHP websites including WordPress and Laravel easily and securely. Unlike other control panels, FastCP doesn't offer a lot of features and it is aimed at a single purpose, that is to serve websites securely and at speed.

You should consider FastCP if you are:

  • Looking to serve PHP websites fast
  • Looking for an elegant and simple UI
  • Comfortable using SFTP rather than FTP
  • Looking to run multiple websites on a single server
  • Allow multiple users host their websites ensuring privacy

You should not consider FastCP if you are:

  • Looking to manage DNS from control panel
  • Going to send and receive emails through the same server
  • Looking for a lot of features like that of cPanel

In short, FastCP should be considered only if you just want to serve websites securely and at blazing fast speeds. In modern era, businesses host their email on external services like Google Workspace and they manage their domain's DNS externally. In a situation like that, FastCP is a perfect fit and it doesn't try to offer the same set of traditional features including FTP, DNS management, email hosting and so on.

Instead, FastCP makes security and performance a priority. It doesn't install unnecessary software. It doesn't rely on obsolete FTP and instead it offers SFTP. It uses Apache + NGINX hybrid to bring you performance and the convenience of htaccess files in a single place.
