Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the issues (both open and closed)

Current Behavior

This is really iffy because I don't have an iPhone to test on.
Today I attempted to test #1338 with two different friends who have iPhones and the official Mastodon app.
In both cases, upon bringing up a user profile, they were unable to scroll past the first page or so of post history. They got only a spinning throbber.

Expected Behavior

Scrolling down a post history, you should be able to keep scrolling and new pages should load in as demanded. I get smooth loading in of old posts on both Mastodon Web, Official Mastodon for Android, and Tusky for Android.

Steps To Reproduce

I saw this on two phones today with friends who were helping me test. The test was to open the backscroll of @[email protected] (https://https://mastodon.social/@mcc) and just scroll until. The goal in both cases was to hit the boost described in #1338. In neither case could we make it back the whole 2 days.

Environment

The two test devices were:

* My wife's iphone, on Wifi, logged into mastodon.social, I don't know her iOS version but can get it if really needed.
* My friend Misty's iPhone, using iOS 17.6, and the client is 2024.7 downloaded today. She is using digipres.club.

Anything else?

If this does not reproduce for you, then I assume we just got unlucky twice and you can close the issue with my apologies.
