Replacing Front Matter Keys Globally

What I think my problem is
The downside to this is that I have to add that key to every single article that I create. If I ever decided to change themes, I would have to go through and change them all again (I think).

What I would like to do
Is there a way I can replace front matter keys during the export process through my config? At the very least, I would only need to export again without that setting if I ever changed themes.
